Tsavo west National Park

Tsavo West National Park is one of Kenya’s largest and most scenic national parks, renowned for its dramatic landscapes, rich wildlife, and unique geological features. It’s part of the greater Tsavo ecosystem, which includes Tsavo East National Park, and together they form one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world.

    Wildlife

    Though it’s more densely vegetated than Tsavo East (making sightings trickier), Tsavo West is home to:

    • Elephants (often red-colored due to the park’s soil)

    • Lions, leopards, cheetahs

    • Black rhinos (in the protected Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary)

    • Buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos

    • Crocodiles in rivers and springs

    • Over 600 bird species
