Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s most accessible and visually striking parks, famous for its flamingos, rhinos, and picturesque lake surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. It offers a compact but rewarding safari experience and is a popular stop on the way to or from the Maasai Mara or Lake Naivasha.

Wildlife

Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary, and one of the best places in Kenya to reliably see both:

  • White rhinos

  • Black rhinos

Other notable animals include:

    • Lions (often found lounging in trees!)

    • Leopards

    • Buffalo, zebras, giraffes (Rothschild’s giraffe)

    • Waterbucks, impalas, baboons, warthogs

    • Occasionally: hippos and hyenas
